Mission

Execute and oversee small to mid-sized concrete scopes while supporting project execution through leadership of internal crews and subcontracted field resources. This role serves as a transition position into full Project Superintendent responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

1. Self-Perform Work (Go-Back / Specialty Scopes)

  • Lead and perform smaller scope projects as needed:
       
    • Retaining walls
    •  
    • Column wraps
    •  
    • Misc. structural infill / corrections
  •  
  • Operate with a small, highly efficient crew
  • Ensure work meets company standards for quality, safety, and production

 

2. Field Oversight of Crews

  • Act as field superintendent for smaller projects staffed by in-house or subcontracted crews
  • Ensure:    
       
    • Scope alignment with plans
    •  
    • Schedule adherence
    •  
    • Quality control during forming and placement
  •  
  • Serve as point of contact with GC superintendent when assigned

 

3. Planning & Coordination

  • Review plans and scope prior to starting work
  • Identify discrepancies and communicate with PM team
  • Coordinate:    
       
    • Concrete orders
    •  
    • Pumping      
    •  
    • Material deliveries
  •  
  • Maintain short-term lookaheads (1–2-week horizon)

 

4. Field Leadership & Communication

  • Lead daily tailgate meetings when running crews
  • Coordinate manpower needs with Operations
  • Train junior foreman for succession planning
  • Maintain communication with:
       
    • Project Managers
    •  
    • Operations Manager
    •  
    • Field crews and subcontractors

5. Safety & Quality Control

  • Enforce site-specific safety requirements
  • Conduct toolbox talks and daily safety oversight
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards during placement and finishing

 

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete daily reports with:
       
    • Work performed
    •  
    • Manpower      
    •  
    • Photos      
  •  
  • Track and submit T&M work when applicable
  • Assist in documenting field issues impacting cost or schedule

 

7. Career Progression Development

  • Actively train toward full Project Superintendent responsibilities:
       
    • Exposure to scheduling
    •  
    • Preconstruction review participation
    •  
    • Coordination with PM team on RFIs, submittals, etc.

 

Ideal CandidateProfile

  • 5–10+ years as a Concrete Foreman (structural preferred)
  • Strong ability to work hands-on while leading
  • OSHA 30 , hoisting license, drivers license
  • Proven experience:
       
    • Reading plans independently
    •  
    • Running small crews efficiently
    •  
    • Communicating with GCs
  •  
  • Wants to grow into a Superintendent role
